David Pitt-Watson is a leading thinker and practitioner in the field of responsible investment and business practice. He was co-founder, and former CEO of Hermes Focus Funds and Equity Ownership Service, which became the largest responsible investment group of any institutional fund manager in the world.
Throughout his career he has been deeply involved in policy, particularly in the field of responsible investment and pensions. He led the Tomorrow's Investor Programme for the Royal Society of Arts in the UK, which has been a leading advocate for transparency of charges, and for allowing collective structures within the UK pension system.
A graduate of Oxford and Stanford Universities, he has been and Executive Fellow in Finance and London Business School, and Visiting Professor of Strategy at Cranfield. He is an independent non-executive at KPMG and chairs the NESTA endowment fund.
